Travel Helsinki

...In Helsinki.

Weekends (sometimes also middle of the week) are the best time for checking bars and clubs. Finns usually like to party, and Helsinki is the city for that. You can choose between newest clubs, live bands and bars just the one for your taste. You will easily meet new people, get to know Finnish drinking culture and have a great time. Usually the age limit to drink and go to bars and clubs is 18 years, but there is also some places only for over 21- , 22- or 24-years old people.

Finnish chain called Alko has the monopoly of selling alcohol, so you can’t find drinks over 5% volume from normal super market.  Age limit for buying alcohol is 18, but only for volume under 22%. Over 22% volume you need to be 20 years old. In bars however you can order stronger drinks, even if you are only 18 years old.
You can buy cigarettes when you are 18 years old, but you can’t smoke inside clubs and bars.
